Frequently Asked Questions

See FAQs

I thought you might have a few questions, so have attempted to answer a number of them here!

Do you offer gift wrapping?

All my items come beautfilly gift-wrapped as standard.

What will my item(s) be packaged in?

In order to keep waste to a minimum, I will reuse boxes and packaging materials that I have carefully stored to use for this purpose. While the outer packaging has been repurposed, your items will be lovingly wrapped in tissue and a mixture of new and repurposed ribbon, twine or raffia. And at Christmas, there may be a little festive foliage from my garden to make your parcel look even more special ... rosemary, yew, eucalyptus, lavender ...

Can you send directly to the recipient?

Yes, just detail the delivery address when placing your order. You can complete the 'message' box, or email me if you would like me to include a special message with the item(s) you have ordered.

What are the delivery times?

If your items are in stock, you should allow 3-4 days from the point your order is received (please allow a little longer at weekends). However, exact times will vary according to the time of year and where you live. Many prints are made to order, therefore please allow 7-10 working days.

Most items are dispatched via Royal Mail (first class and second class). If you require something super speedy, please add a note at the checkout, or email me sales@vickishortt.com before placing the order and I'll see if I can help!

What are your delivery costs?

For ease of purchasing, I have included the cost of p&p into the overall price of each item.

I also offer a self-collect option. You can select this at the checkout.

Do you offer discounts?

For any orders over £50, an authomatic discount of 10% will be applied. For orders over £200, an automatic discount of 25% will be applied at the checkout. From time to time I may run offers and will advertise specific discount codes that can be used at the checkout.

What about returns?

If you happen to be unhappy with your item(s), please drop me an email to discuss. I obviously want to ensure that you are happy with your purchases and will try my best to resolve the issue. If you post the unwanted, undamaged and unused item(s) back to me, and they arrive in said condition, I will issue a refund within 14 days.

What do I do if I receive a damaged parcel?

My items are all made to a high standard and nothing leaves me without a quality check first. I am particular not to sell/make items that I would not be happy to purchase myself.

With regard to damage during delivery, let's hope this doesn't happen ... but if it does, please email me within 24 hours of receiving the damaged parcel.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Online payments (cash if you're local).

I live locally, are you able to deliver to me?

If you live in Taunton, I would be more than happy to drop off your order.

What are your Christmas posting dates?

This information is updated in the October/November each year.

The early bird catches the worm as they say ... so us small businesses do love it when people get their orders into us in plenty of time to avoid the Christmas rush. For items out of stock and at the mercy of the supply chain (tea towels and scarves) I will keep my comms as up-to-date as possible for when deliveries are expected.

If you would like anything to be sent directly to the recipient to avoid me posting to you, and then you posting it on ... email me with your needs and I'll do my best to help you.

My glassware is all painted by hand to order, so you'll need to allow 7-10 days from receipt of order and artwork detail. For Christmas orders my cut-off date will usually be around 30 November for anything that requires posting. For anyone local to Taunton, I extend this date to around the 10 December. This means that an item would be with you by 16 December at the latest. Email if you're unsure!

Where are your items made?

Everything I sell is designed by me and made in the UK. I work with suppliers in the North: Leeds, Manchester, Leek and Stafford, plus local businesses here in Taunton. The manufacturers of my cotton scarves and tea towels use reactive inks, which not only boast superior rub and wash fastness, but which also conform to OEKO-TEX standard 100 – meaning they contain no harmful chemicals. The fabric is sourced from a mill in Pakistan, who are members of BCI (Better Cotton Initiative).

For greetings cards and art prints, I work with suppliers who use FSC certified paper and card.

The designs for my prints and textiles (on Etsy) originate from my mixed-media artwork that is photographed and digitised to produce the myriad of options you will see in my products.
