Description

This Trans-Pennine Trail art print depicts another of Vicki’s memories of her days riding through the South Yorkshire countryside on her pony.

Now part of the Trans-Pennine Trail, ‘the old railway line’ at Silkstone Common was right next to the livery yard where I used to ride, so it was a regular off-road route for me and my friends.
Linking up with trails into nearby woodland and quiet country lanes, it was an arterial route for me to explore the countryside in the ‘80s and ‘90s. It’s peppered with remnants of its coal industry past, each with its own story to tell.

For me, it will always be the ‘old railway line’ and a source of nostalgia for my riding past, where it was just me and my pony and the open trail! Please let me know if you’d like to know more about this Trans-Pennine Trail Art Print.
