Description
Celebrating plants and the natural world, and aiming to reconnect people with them, The Eden Project is a popular visitor attraction in Cornwall. Located in a reclaimed clay pit, the main area encompasses two huge dome-like structures and adjoining smaller domes. Constructed from of hundreds of hexagonal and pentagonal ETFE inflated cells and tubular steel, the two larger geodisc domes simulate a rainforest environment and a Mediterranean environment respectively. Outside, surrounding the domes are a stunning array of botanical gardens that are home to a myriad of plant and insect life native to Cornwall and the wider UK.
