Grimsby Docks Art Print
From: £16.95
Standing sentinel at the entrance to the Royal Dock, Grimsby Dock Tower greets visitors (and locals alike) as they arrive in the town. Completed in 1852 as a hydraulic accumulator tower, it once supplied water pressure to operate the dock’s machinery – powering cranes, lock gates and sluices at the height of Grimsby’s maritime industry.
Now Grade I listed, the tower was designed by James William Wild, who modelled its striking Italianate form on the Torre del Mangia, the famed civic tower of Siena’s Palazzo Pubblico – an unexpected architectural echo on the edge of the Humber Estuary.
This design captures a broader panorama of the docks, viewed across the Humber Estuary from along the sea wall. The composition balances industry and open sky, reflecting both the engineering ambition and enduring presence of this iconic landmark within the coastal landscape.
This Grimsby Docks art print is produced on matt 280gsm weight paper and sold unframed. Price includes p&p to UK mainland. Your landscape art print will arrive WITHOUT a Vicki Shortt watermark, which is only present in this preview.
