Description
Completed in 1852, the dock tower can be spotted as you enter the town of Grimsby, sited at the entrance to the Royal Dock. It is a hydraulic accumulator tower and was built to provide water pressure to power the hydraulic machinery – cranes, lock gates and sluices – at the Grimsby Docks. Now a Grade I listed tower and designed by James William Wild, its appearance is based on that of the Torre del Mangia (on the Palazzo Pubblico) in Siena. I think it has to be one of my favourite structures.
This limited edition print is part of a collection of four versions, all based on the original design of Grimsby Dock Tower that is already a popular open edition print. Each design uses a different colour palette and different fragments from my original paintings. These giclée prints come signed and noted with their edition number and are supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
There are 50 available in each of the 4 designs: x25 A3 and x25 A4, each printed on heavily textured Canson Aquarelle archival paper. These prints are printed to order. Please allow 7-10 days when placing an order. If you require this sooner, please get in touch: hello@vickishortt.com
